O Conselho Superior dos Tribunais Administrativos e Fiscais, por intermédio do seu Gabinete de Relações Internacionais, recebeu hoje, dia 22 de abril de 2026, o Liaison Officer / Ponto de Contacto para o Estado Português da Agência da União Europeia para o Asilo (EUAA), Dr. Constantino Giordano, no contexto de uma reunião institucional.
Durante este encontro, foram aflorados temas relativos ao asilo e à proteção subsidiária, no contexto das alterações introduzidas, nesta matéria, pelo Regulamento (UE) 2024/1347 e pelo Regulamento (UE) 2024/1348, do Parlamento Europeu e do Conselho, de 14 de maio de 2024, que entrarão em vigor no início do segundo semestre deste ano.
Esta reunião permitiu reforçar os laços institucionais entre as duas entidades, que se reviram no propósito de contribuir para a aplicação efetiva, coerente, juridicamente fundada e harmonizada destes instrumentos jurídicos europeus, esperando-se que, em breve, sejam dados importantes passos no estabelecimento de parcerias entre ambas as instituições.

CSTAF welcomes representative of the EU Agency for Asylum in an institutional meeting
On 22 April 2026, the High Council of Administrative and Tax Courts, acting through its International Relations Office, received Dr. Constantino Giordano, Liaison Officer and National Contact Point for the Portuguese State at the European Union Agency for Asylum (EUAA), in the context of an institutional meeting.
During the course of the meeting, matters relating to asylum and subsidiary protection were examined, in particular in the light of the amendments introduced in this area by Regulation (EU) 2024/1347 and Regulation (EU) 2024/1348 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 May 2024, which are due to enter into force at the beginning of the second half of the current year.
The meeting provided an opportunity to further consolidate institutional relations between the two bodies, which reaffirmed their common resolve to contribute to the effective, coherent, legally robust and harmonised implementation of these European Union legal instruments.
It is expected that significant progress will be made in the near future towards the establishment of partnerships between the two institutions.
